GDA commissions ropeway across Bramhaputra

Guwahati Development Authority had commissioned its new ropeway transport between Guwahati and North Guwahati across the mighty river Bramhaputra. The project was implemented with state-of-the-art technology conforming to international standards. Samir Damodar Ropeway has provided the contract services while the technology and equipment were purchased from Sweden.

The project cost is estimated at ₹ 560 million and the length of the ropeway is 1.8 km which can be travelled in 8 minutes. The ropeway cabin can accommodate 30 people+1 operator.
