Oil India to set up a 30 MW power project

Oil India Ltd is planning to set up a 30 megawatt (MW) power plant near Dulijan in Assam. In January 2021, the company has awarded the EPC contract to Wartsila India through international competitive bidding. The ground breaking ceremony was done during April 2021.

The project involves setting up of 3 W20V34SG gas engines running on natural gas fuel from OIL’s captive gas fields. Since, there can be variations in the quality of the gas supply from these fields, the company will provide a continuous gas analyser system which will automatically tune the engines as per fuel quality.

The power plant is scheduled to be commissioned in November 2022.
