Apollo Hospitals has acquired a 51% stake in a Guwahati based Assam Hospitals in June 2015. Assam Hospital is a 220 bed hospital with occupancy levels of 80%. Apollo Hospitals plans to expand the capacity to 300 beds. The company is looking for inorganic growth in the north eastern region where it has no presence.
